Increase your productivity in 10,000 steps a day

It’s no secret that I’m passionate when it comes to health and fitness, but my driving force for staying active is the fact that high energy = high productivity. You also know that I’m all about “pairing activities,” such as listening to a podcast or an audiobook while I’m preparing breakfast.

Today, I want to share a tool with you that has been a game changer in increasing my energy and my productivity — walking on my treadmill desk while at work.

Here’s three things to know:

  • Walking on a treadmill falls under the category of NEAT: Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis

  • Spending 15 minutes walking immediately after a meal can HALVE your blood sugar levels

  • High blood sugar levels can cause insulin to spike and for you to feel swings in your energy — walking can prevent that

Treadmill desks are an absolute game changer. If you’re interested in learning more, check out “Get Up!” by James Levine.
